In the period of time that she stayed here in Australia I got to know her as a person and we spent a lot of time together - going shopping, eating, teaching each other Japanese and English, taking photos etc. Although it took some time to overcome the language barrier, I learnt that patience is indeed, very important. We both remained patient with each other as we tried to explain ourselves to one another and believe me, this wasn't easy. We drew pictures, used translators, wrote down sentences, made hand gestures and anything we could think of to help us communicate. But regardless of the language barrier that was in between us, we became really good friends in such a short period of time and yes, it was definitely sad to say goodbye. She'll be back with her family soon though and she'll be back to study English and learn more about our language.
Having her here has definitely taught me a lot about myself and I thank her for it even though she's probably unaware of it. That saying 'patience is a virtue' is indeed very true lol. I used to say it for the heck of it knowing that I was probably one of the most impatient people in the world but now I can say that it is a really important factor to live by. Although most of you who are reading this are probably like "what on earth is she talking about" or "this girl is talking bla bla bla's about patience", I don't really feel the need to explain myself further than what I've said here. There are a few people who know what I'm talking about and that's all I really need.
